Well, our indomitable Miss Marple turns ghost hunter and uncovers shocking evidence of a very old crime.
Review:
Sleeping Murder is a work of detective fiction by Agatha Christie. This book also comes under the Marple series. The story revolves around a murder that happened twenty years ago. It has been adopted as BBC film, Japanese animated series & ITV television with a lot of plot changes.
Gwenda Halliday Reed – 21 year old newly married woman. She is the main persona and her characterization was neatly knitted with the story and well developed until the end.
Giles Reed – Gwenda’s husband. First I thought that his curiosity is somehow surreal but when the story reveals each characters and their part of stories, we will be in his shoes more.
Miss Jane Marple – loves to garden. And also a detective. She will redirect you to the correct path throughout this mystery maze. This fictional character appeared in so many crime novels and short stories of Agatha Christie’s.
"It really is very dangerous to believe people, I never have for years"
Some other most important and well developed characters are Helen, Dr James Kennedy, Walter Fane and Richard Erskine. Each character is unique and has some magic to entangle with them. They will keep you in the edge of your seat till the end.
Overall, sleeping murder is one of the impressive works of Agatha Christie. Thriller parts are neatly present and they hook you until the end. A crime committed twenty years ago will haunt you for sometime.
I highly recommend this novel to all the crime-thriller lovers and admirers of Agatha Christie.
