Review:
I'm a great admirer of Sherlock Holmes' stories. When I heard that this film is revolved around the teenage sister of famous "Sherlock Holmes", I immediately dived into watching this movie. This movies is based on the first book in the series of "The Enola Holmes mysteries" by Nancy Springer.
Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) - the youngest sibling in the famous Holmes family. She is brave, smart and empathetic girl. Her intellectual acuity helps her to find her missing mother. Millie Bobby Brown is a perfect choice for this role. She looks sensational. Her acting skills in the action sequences are ineffable. Her charismatic behaviour easily captivate the audience. "
"The choice is always yours whatever society may claim, it can't control you."
Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) - the second eldest of the Holmes siblings. He is a prominent private detective. His subtle acting quickly makes us to accept him as Sherlock. His unexpressed care for his sister stole our hearts.
"You are being emotional. It's understandable but unnecessary."
Mycroft Holmes (Sam Claflin) - the eldest of the Holmes siblings. He is a government employee and also the legal guardian of Enola. He wants her sister to follow the so called etiquettes for girls which are followed by the society. His acting is convincingly good for this role.
Eudoria Holmes (Helena Bonham Carter) - the matriarch of the Holmes family. She is an anomalous person who wants her daughter to find her own path and live on as she wants. Her adoration for her daughter is so appealing.
"You have to make some noise if you want to be heard."
Viscount Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) - Marquess of Basilwether. Most of the times, his cuteness overtakes everyone in the film especially Millie. Enola and his scenes together set the world on fire.
Works of direction and cinematography teams are noteworthy. Music scored by Daniel Pemberton is euphonius.
As a whole, this movie is a gratifying ride comprising of snappy mysteries.
I highly recommend this movie to the lovers of fast-paced mystery movies and also to the adherent fans of Sherlock Holmes' stories.
Happy watching!!!
