Review:

Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story is an Indian financial thriller streaming television series on SonyLIV. This series is based on a book “The Scam: who won, who lost and who got away” by journalist Suchita Dalal and Debashish Basu.

Harsad Mehta (Pratik Gandhi) – is an ordinary Gujarati salesman who joins as a jobber at Bombay Stock Exchange. Later, he starts his own consulting firm. He utilizes loopholes in the market system and soon hoards a huge amount of wealth. Pratik Gandhi’s stellar performance is the mainstay of this story. His exceptional effulgence in acting also helps to engage the audience.

"Take everything on written no matter how honest your partner is in business".

Suchita Dalal (Shreya Dhanwanthary) – is an audacious journalist who can go to any extend to bring out the truth to limelight. Her steadfast dedication in Harsad Mehta’s case unveils his scam in 1992 and also checkmated all his illegitimate activities. Shreya is an optimal choice for this role. Her acting stands out from others with delicacy.

"One should be stubborn for the Goal".

Some other prominent cast are Hemant Kher, Faisal Rashid, Rajat Kapoor, Anant Mahadevan and Chirag Vohra.

"If you have money and skills Everyone bows to you".

Director Hansal Mehta done a wonderful job. Writers gave us a precise story which does not change any track from the original story. Title montage and theme music score are grabs our attention for sure.

Predominantly, this series is an outright delightful watch based on a true story and may make you ponder over it at least for a while.

I highly recommend this series to the admirers of biographies, good narrative style and also to the curious minds who wants to know about Harsad Mehta’s story.

Happy Watching!!!

Scam 1992 Trailer

Synopsis:

A 6-year old girl is kidnapped by a mysterious mask man, who demands an unusual ransom. To save his daughter, Dr. Avinash Sabharwal must kill someone. Meanwhile, Kabir Sawant's journey continues in the hostile environment of the Delhi Crime Branch. Lies, deceits and mind games begin when Kabir is given charge of the investigation, and meets Avinash. How far will Avinash go to save his daughter?

Review:

I watched breathe and it made me really curious to watch this sequel (even though the story has nothing to do with the previous part except for same two policemen playing in the same role).

Dr. Avinash Sabharwal (Abhishek Bachchan) – is a famous psychiatrist and also the father of kidnapped girl Siya (Ivana Kaur). His wife Abha (Nithya Menon) is a famous chef who works in a five star hotel. Abhishek played his role well which demands different shades of acting. Nithya delivered sufficient emotions through her acting in her own style.

Kabir Sawant (Amit Sadh) – reprises his role from the previous series as an inspector who is now transferred to Delhi Crime branch. He gives mind blowing performance. His instincts never fails him and his emotional sides are more admirable. He is the biggest strength to the story.

Other characters are apt to their roles especially Nizhalgal Ravi and Saiyami Kher. Overall background score is good but some main places need more music to match up to the jittery scenes.

Direction, story and screenplay departments have extraordinarily done their jobs. Flash back scenes are convincing.

On the whole, this series is an impressive suspense thriller using the agreeable psychological factors.

The story ended with an open question paving way for next season.

I highly recommend this series to the lovers of suspense and thriller with some psychological reasons.

Synopsis:

Breathe is an Indian drama that explores the lives of ordinary men faced with extraordinary circumstances. Kabir (Amit Sadh), a brilliant but non-conventional officer of the Crime Branch, puts the pieces together of seemingly unconnected deaths of organ donors that leads up to an unlikely suspect – the affable Danny (Madhavan). Kabir will not stop till he cracks the case and delivers justice.

Review:

Breathe is the second Indian original series of Amazon prime video. Story telling and direction are utterly splendid. Music by Alokananda Dasgupta plays vital role in the story. Characterization are appropriate for each character. Madhavan gives a smashing performance.

Danny (Madhavan) – a football coach. He lives with his son Josh (Atharva Vishvakarma) and his mother Juliet (Neena Kulkarni). Josh has severe lung problem. Danny desperately tries to save his son's life with the help of doctor Aruna (Shriswara). Everyone is an absolute choice for their roles.

Kabir (Amit Sadh) – a senior inspector of crime branch. He nailed each scene with his acting. Ria (Sapna Pabbi) – wife of Kabir. Her presence is a total delight on the screen.

Supporting actors fairly fit their roles.

Story is developed in a way that makes audience stick to their seats.

This series asks just one question – how far will you go to protect the one you love?

Overall, this show is an adequate crime thriller series in this kind of genre.

P.S: Breathe season 2 is released on 10 July 2020. I will try to write a review about it in the future.

I highly recommend this series to the lovers of crime thriller and time saver.

Synopsis :

The story follows a group of school children Sameera, Satyajit and Devraj, who live in Bardez, Goa. The inquisitive friends form a ghost club and decide to seek a ghost at an old haunted villa in their neighbourhood as their first mission. Their curiosity stems from an old story involving an old man who died writing a novel called The Ghost of Sultanpore. However, before the children are able to discover a ghost, a new family moves in and the legend of the villa resurfaces in frightening mode. The story revolves around the mystery behind the titular typewriter, which seems to harbor a grudge against those who try to remove it from the house. It is further complicated by the narrative of past occupants, with the story jumping between decades. Sudden deaths, past of Sultanpore and unnatural powers are also storylines of the webseries.

Review :

I always fancied having a typewriter. That is one of my reasons to chosen this Indian webseries. Now, I have to rethink about buying one for me . First 15 minutes into the series is enough to decide that this will be an amazing horror story.

“Bardez Villa” is a perfect choice to fuel-up our fright feelings. Whole cast and crew undoubtedly justify their roles. Background music score is top-notch.

Jenny coming back to her villa after so many years resurfaces the horror in that place . She comes to know about her past and also about her self. It’s an absolute bombshell for her (and also for us).

Sameera's boldness stands out from the crowd. Her curiosities leads the way to reveal the secret behind the “The Ghost of Sultanpore” novel. Her father Anand perfectly balances his role as father as well as Inspector. Their bond is what you desire in your life.

Flash back story is well grounded. There is no exaggeration in the story. This turns out to be one of the plus points.

Overall, it’s a fresh story depicting the black magic in an outstanding way. It’s ending was in a way that most of the horror stories end - screaming for next season.

P.S. This webseries is not for the weak hearts.

I highly recommend this webseries to all the horror lovers out there.
