Synopsis:

Vincenzo Cassano is a consigliere for the mafia who flees to Seoul and sets out to recover 1.5 tons of gold which is secretly stashed within the basement of Geumga Plaza. However, a real estate company under Babel Group has illegally taken ownership of the building, and Vincenzo must use his skills to reclaim the building and recover his fortunes.

Review:

Vincenzo is a South Korean television series which aired on tvN network, each episode was released on Netflix in South Korea and internationally after it’s television broadcast. 

Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong-ki) – is an Italian Lawyer and Mafia consigliere of Korean descent. Song Joong- ki is an apposite choice for this role. His devilish side matches well at the beginning. Later on he becomes close with tenants at Geumga Plazza which fades out his dark sides. 

Hong Cha-Young (Jeon Yeo-been) – is a lawyer and the daughter of Hong Yoo-chan. Her dynamic performance suits well. 

Jang Jun-woo / Jang Han-seok (Ok Taec-yeon) – is the true CEO of Babel group and the main antagonist of this series. He has done lot of egregious things to others. He is pertinent for this flagitious character. 

So many characters played important roles. Some interesting characters are Kim Yeo-jin, Kwak Dong-yeon, Yoon Bok-in and Choi Young-joon.

Director Kim Hee-won has done a fantastic job. Writer Park Jae-bum has written somewhat different story from other typical korean drama plots. But, he dragged the story a lot. Composer Park Se-joon has done a good job but his background theme is repeated a lot. 

On the whole, Vincenzo is a fine series played by loads of wondrous characters which loses its main essence due to its outstretched narration in the later part. 

I highly recommend this series to the lovers of atypical Korean dramas and also to the admirers of Song Joong-ki and Ok Taec-yeon.

Review:

Into the night is a Belgium apocalyptic science fiction drama based on the polish novel, The old axolotl by Jacek Dukaj.

This season starts off directly from where they left. There are some new characters introduced in the bunker. Our old favorite characters are struggling to adjust with the new people and environment because of the military regulations. 

This season also starts it’s each episode with characters' flashback. That will be helpful for us to understand them more.

All the old main characters Sylvia, Mathieu, Ayaz, Laura have done their acting as usually in a perfect way. We will immediately take their side because of the familiarization. 

The first few episodes are lacking it’s fast pace compared to the previous seasons’ episodes. New characters freak us with their behaviors. 

Director Nabil Ben Yadir and Camille Delamarre have done excellent work. Writer Jason George has written a decent engaging story but it lacks some essence if we compare it with the previous season. 

Background music is good. This season ended with cliffhanger. Ending episode holds so many information which trigger our curiousity for the next season. Some unexpected and totally different story may await us in the next season.

Altogether, 'into the night - season 2' is decent enough to engage us with the story but more importantly induces our curiousity for the next season. 

I highly recommend this series to all the lovers of 'into the night' series and also to apocalypse story lovers.

ஹரிணி (அமிர்தா ஐய்யர்) – மனிதவள மேலாளராக (HR Manager) நடித்துள்ளார். ஹரிணியின் துரு துரு இயல்பு நன்கு பொருந்தியுள்ளது. அமிர்தாவின் நடிப்பு கணக்கச்சிதம். தனக்கு கிடைத்த வாய்ப்பை நன்கு பயன்படுத்தி உள்ளார்.

கதையில் பல காட்சிகள் யூகிக்க முடியாத அளவுக்கு மிகவும் வித்தியாசமாக அமைத்துள்ளனர்.

எழுத்து மற்றும் இயக்கத்தைப் புது முகமான வினீத் வரப்பிரசாத் மிக சிறந்த முறையில் செய்துள்ளார். அவரின் அறிமுகப் படம் என்பதை நம்பும் வண்ணம் இல்லாமல் நிறைய திரைப்படங்கள் இயக்கிய அனுபவசாலி இயக்குநர்களுக்கு இணையாக ஒரு திரைப்படத்தை நமக்கு தந்துள்ளார்.

Review:

Shershaah is an Indian Hindi-language biographical war film. This movie release was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and then premiered on 12 August 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. On 31st August, Amazon stated that Shershaah had become the most watched Indian film on the platform. 

Vikram Batra (Sidharth Malhotra) – is an Indian Army Captain. His courageous acts surely horripilate the audience. His love for the Indian Army and for his girlfriend certainly entices all the viewers. Sidharth is a phenomenal choice for this role. His action and love sequences captivate you entirely. 

Dimple Cheema (Kiara Advani) – is a classmate and girlfriend of Vikram Batra. Her love shines brightly throughout the movie particularly at the end. Kiara excellently used her chance and makes us tip over for her. 

Some other promising characters are Shiv Panditt, Shataf Figar, Nikitin Dheer and Mir Sarwar. 

Director Vishnuvardhan made his Bollywood debut through this film. He utilized his opportunity well. Writer Sandeep Shrivastava has done a decent job to portray war sequences with ample amount of love scenes. There is no inessential scenes in This film. Music director John Stewart Eduri has performed felicitous music and my favourite track is Raataan Lambiyan. 

As a whole, Shershaah is a proper biographical movie which brings out the true story of our nation’s super hero captain “Vikram Batra” and did justification too.

I highly recommend this movie to all the lovers of good films, army admirers and of course to those who celebrate the true heroes in this world.

Review:

Peril at end house is a detective fiction by British author Agatha Christie. This novel was well received when first published, with the plot stated as unusually creative and clever by the reviewers. It has been adapted to computer game, film, graphic novel, radio, stage, television and translated to many other languages as a book.

Hercule Poirot – is a private detective. Well, this characterization is as usually developed as an astute person. You will try to heed every action of him. He will unearth clues from anything which we think as an impossible one. He is the linchpin of this story.  

Arthur Hastings – is the best friend of Poirot. He is the narrator of this story. This character’s point of view is more relatable to our thinking. 

Nick Buckley – is a young mistress of End House. She is so impetuous that she isn’t aware of the perils enwreathing her. She is the key figure of this story. She enshrouds some stuff very well towards the end. This character is developed in an inimitable way. 

Some other entrancing characters are George Challenger, Freddie Rice, Charles Vyse and Ellen. 

Agatha Christie, queen of mystery, penned down an outlandish plot which may ruminate you to hitch with the story until end. 

I highly recommend this book to all the mystery lovers and of course to the fans of Agatha Christie.

Review:

Raya and the Last dragon is an animated fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. This movie was theatrically released in US on March 5, 2021. It is also available in Disney+Hotstar access as a result of covid pandemic's impacts on theatrical release.

A power struggle for the gem splits Kumandra's people into five tribes named as Fang, Heart, Spine, Talon and Tail. Heart ends up holding the gem.

Raya (Voiced by Kelly Marie Tran) – brave warrior princess of heart and also has been training to become a guardian of the dragon gem. Raya has some natural charm, you will love her from the start. Her valorous performances and genial character helps her to achieve her target. 

“People, being people, they all fought to possess the last remnant of dragon magic.” – Raya

Sisu (Voiced by Awkwafina) – the last dragon in existence. She is an amusing, funny and vulnerable personality but she is also brave enough to face the difficult situations. Sisu is the cutest dragon you will ever witness. Her character development will surely steal your heart (Well, I felt like I really want to meet her once even though I know she's a fantasy creature ). 

“It may feel impossible but sometimes you just have to take the first step, even before you’re ready.” – Sisu

Namaari (voiced by Gemma Chan) – the warrior princess of Fang and Raya’s rival. This character development irks you for sure at the beginning yet you cannot hate her entirely at the end. Her brazen personality will make you admire her at least once in a while. 

“In a different world, maybe we could have been friends.” – Namaari

Some other fascinating characters are: 

Boun (Voiced by Izaac Wang) – a charming 10 year old entrepreneur.

Little Noi (Voiced by Thalia Tran) – an infant con artist from Talon.

Tuk Tuk (Voiced by Alan Tudyk) – adorable friend of Raya. It is a mix of an armadillo and a pill bug. It is one of my favorite characters. 

Chief Benja (Voiced by Daniel Dae Kim) – is the leader of Heart and great father to Raya.

“If we don’t stop and learn to trust one another again, it’s only a matter of time before we tear each other apart.” – Chief Benja

All the people are fighting the Drunn - threatening evil spirits that turn people and dragons to stone. Raya finds Sisu by her handiwork and tries to collect the gem pieces to fight back Drunn to recover the people that turned into stone.

Direction by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada is exceptional. The screenplay was written by Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim. They both did impressive work. Music by James Newton Howard matches-up the story. Animation works are done in an outstanding way. Every technician deserves a round of applause. 

Overall, this film give us an exhilarating feeling through fierce story with an awe-inspiring animation work. 

I highly recommend this movie to all the animation lovers and also to those who likes gratifying story tracks.

"Raya And The Last Dragon"  Trailer

Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story is an Indian financial thriller streaming television series on SonyLIV. This series is based on a book “The Scam: who won, who lost and who got away” by journalist Suchita Dalal and Debashish Basu. 

Harsad Mehta (Pratik Gandhi) – is an ordinary Gujarati salesman who joins as a jobber at Bombay Stock Exchange. Later, he starts his own consulting firm. He utilizes loopholes in the market system and soon hoards a huge amount of wealth. Pratik Gandhi’s stellar performance is the mainstay of this story. His exceptional effulgence in acting also helps to engage the audience. 

"Take everything on written no matter how honest your partner is in business".

Suchita Dalal (Shreya Dhanwanthary) – is an audacious journalist who can go to any extend to bring out the truth to limelight. Her steadfast dedication in Harsad Mehta’s case unveils his scam in 1992 and also checkmated all his illegitimate activities. Shreya is an optimal choice for this role. Her acting stands out from others with delicacy. 

"One should be stubborn for the Goal".

Some other prominent cast are Hemant Kher, Faisal Rashid, Rajat Kapoor, Anant Mahadevan and Chirag Vohra.

Director Hansal Mehta done a wonderful job. Writers gave us a precise story which does not change any track from the original story. Title montage and theme music score are grabs our attention for sure.

Predominantly, this series is an outright delightful watch based on a true story and may make you ponder over it at least for a while. 

I highly recommend this series to the admirers of biographies, good narrative style and also to the curious minds who wants to know about Harsad Mehta’s story.

Review:

The girl on the train is a psychological thriller novel by British author Paula Hawkins. The novel debuted in the number one spot on The New York Times fiction best sellers of 2015 list and remained in the top position for 13 consecutive weeks. It won the 2016 Audie Award for Audiobook of the year. 

The film rights were acquired before the book was published by Dreamworks pictures for Marc Platt Productions. The American adaptation was released on 7 October 2016 and also released in hindi language in 26 February 2021. 

Rachel Watson – is an alcoholic who tries to move on from the end of her marriage to Tom. This characterization is penned down in a deep realistic manner. Her desperate love for her ex-husband erects our compassion towards her. Story from her point of view keeps us in a tipsy state just like her nature. 

“I never learn. I wake with a crushing sensation of wrongness, of shame, and I know immediately that I’ve done something stupid.”

Anna Boyd – is a young, beautiful wife of Tom and mother of Evie. She is showing off to Rachel that Tom picked her and she gradually is enraged by the behaviour of Rachel. This character development is in adequate level. Story from her point of view diverts us from predicting some twist in the beginning.

“People you have a history with, they won’t let you go, and as hard as you might try, you can’t disentangle yourself, can’t set yourself free. Maybe after a while you just stop trying.”

Megan Hipwell – is wife of scott who admires by Rachel from a far distance. Her past life is well hidden from everyone. This character is well developed and makes us engaged with some twists. 

“I woke feverish, panicky. Guilty. I do feel guilty. Just not guilty enough.”

This whole story is a first-person narrative told from these three women. Writer Paula Hawkins wrote a decent enough psychological thriller with neatly knitted twists which coalesced well with the story. Her narrative style stands out expertly. 

Overall, this story is developed in a conventional way which ended with phenomenal twists. 

I highly recommend this book to all the psychological thriller enthusiasts and also to the fans of Paula Hawkins.

Review: 

Uyare is an Indian Malayalam film which was nominated for the best debut feature film of a director at the 50th International Film Festival Of India (IFFI). 

Pallavi Raveendran (Parvathy) – is an aspiring Pilot. She gets into an aviation academy with her dreams to fly high. Parvathy gave an immaculate performance. Her role is the backbone of this story. She proved that she is an astute actress through her impressive acting. 

Govind Balakrishnan (Asif Ali) – is the lover of Pallavi. He is terrifically possessive on her. His dominating character wrecked their relationship at one point. Asif Ali is an absolute choice for this role. His ingenious acting skill ideally sates whatever is demanded for his role. 

Vishal Rajashekaran (Tovino Thomas) – is an airline owner's son. His adorable acting appeases our eyes. 

Some other notable casts are Siddique and Anarkali Marikar.

Debutant director Manu Ashokan gave us a noteworthy film. Writers Bobby and Sanjay wrote a fantabulous story and Music director Gopi Sundar also elevates the story to top most level. 

Overall, this is a poignant movie which delivers a sensational message through this profound script. 

I highly recommend this film to the admirers of inspirational movies and also to the ardent fans of Parvathy.

Synopsis:

When a clever, carefree gangster is recruited to help an overseas crime lord to take down a rival, he is caught off-guard by the moral dilemmas that follow. 

Review:

Jagame Thandhiram is a 2021 Indian Tamil film. This movie is produced by Y Not studios and Reliance Entertainment, and distributed by Netflix. This film is also dubbed in 16 other languages (Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian, Spanish (Castilian), Spanish (Neutral), Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese).

Suruli (Dhanush) – a carefree gangster who isn’t bothered by anyone or his action’s consequences. When his fate leads him to London’s crime lord, what he faces is the whole story. Dhanush's intense performance is missing in this nonchalant characterization. His role is not strong enough to withhold the different sides of the story together. 

Attilla (Aishwarya Lekshmi) – a Sri Lankan Tamilian singer. Her flash back story is the backbone of this movie. She plays her role profoundly. Even though her part is strong enough to attract the audience, the rest of the parts fails to hold tightly onto the intenseness. 

Peter Sprott (James Cosmo) and Sivadoss (Joju George) are powerful rivals. Both of them significantly justify their roles. 

Few more casts also did their part perfectly (esp. Kalaiyarasan, Vadivukkarasi, Sarath Ravi and Deepak Paramesh). 

Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. His extraordinary director’s touch is missing in this film. Music director Santhosh Narayanan gave an energetic performance throughout the film via background score and songs. 

Overall, this film tried to give us a power pack gangster story in a slow paced version that unfortunately went wrong.

I recommend this film to slow paced movie lovers and also to hardcore Dhanush fans.
