Review :
Into the night is a Belgium apocalyptic science fiction drama based on the polish novel, The old axolotl by Jacek Dukaj. This is the first Belgian original series in Netflix too.
Sun is the most essential for all living things but what if sun light starts taking each and every living being on earth without an exception. This concept is more than enough to bring out one’s trepidation.
Sylvie (Pauline Etienne) - a former helicopter Pilot in the Air force. She is my most favourite character. She hauls her boldness to tackle the situation despite her emotional state. Her acting stands out from everyone.
Mathieu (Laurent Capelluto) – a Pilot. His professional ethics are highly appreciative. He leads the passengers with the help of Sylvie.
Zara (Regina Bikkinina ) - a Russian mother who has a sick son, Dominik (Nicolas Alechine) . Her motherly care is out of this world.
Ayaz ( Mehmet Kurtuluş ) – a Turkish businessman. He is a mysterious one yet he cares for Dominik.
Laura (Babetida Sadjo ) - a home care nurse. She helps whomever in need. Her generosity aids everyone.
Jakub (Ksawery Szlenkier ) – a mechanic. His knowledge in his field is applaudable.
Horst (Vincent Londez ) – a climate scientist. His cognizance about the situation is convincing.
There are few more passengers on board too. Every actors are appropriate for their roles.
Each episode pulls out the inhuman side of everyone because of the situation.
Narrative style keeps the audience at the edges of their seats. Graphics is ample. Background scores are passably attractive.
What will you do when you have to travel with total strangers and they become more vulnerable over time? You can’t escape the situation yet you have to rely on those people. Some may seem good or bad. But, you may never know the whole truth.
Altogether, Into the Night is a plausible roller coaster ride.
I highly recommend this series to the lovers of thriller, timesaver and science fiction.
Happy watching!!!
