Review:
It’s been so many years since I watched a Malayalam film. But my friends insisted that I review this movie. Finally, I caved in and penned it down.
Saji (Soubin Shahir) – is the eldest of the four brothers. He is a slacker who doesn’t bother about anything at all. But, life has it’s own way to teach lessons for everyone in the world. When an incident hits his most emotional side, it compels him to vanquish all the resentments buried in his mind. Soubin Shahir is a matchless choice for this role.
Bonny (Sreenath Bhasi) – the eldest brother after Saji, is a mute who falls in love with a tourist women. His care for Franky is inestimable. Sreenath Bhasi is a passable choice for this role.
Bobby (Shane Nigam) – is the second youngest brother. He is a flighty person until he falls in love with Baby (Anna Ben) – a determined young women. Their love turns the story unpredictably. Both are optimal for each other.
Shammy (Fahadh Faasil) – is the brother-in-law of Baby. He exhibits some toxic masculinity. He thinks of himself as a hero and he has misogynistic traits. Fahadh Faasil nailed each scene. He is an ace actor who blows your mind with his spiffing level of acting. He is a nonpareil choice for this antagonist role.
Story is beautifully knit with utmost originality. Cinematography and music grapple together to give us bewitching results in their own zone. Direction is also commendable.
On the whole, Kumbalangi Nights is a pragmatic movie which delivers a predominant issue in the society along with soul stirring music.
I highly recommend this film to the appreciators of movies with good content and also to the admirers of realistic storytelling.
Happy watching!!!
