Synopsis :
Just after midnight, the famous Orient Express is stopped in its tracks by a snowdrift. A passenger lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside.
Isolated by the storm and with a killer in the midst detective Hercule Poirot must identify the prime suspects from a scornful and impatient array of foreign passengers – before the murderer decides to strike again…
Review :
Agatha Christie created Hercule Poirot as an undeniable brainiac private detective (and also a retired Belgian police officer). He just steals our attention by finding clues with great finesse. You cannot defy but to get yourself intertwined to witness his flair of solving riddles.
“The impossible could not have happened, therefore the impossible must be possible in spite of appearances”.
Two other important characters are Monsieur Bouc (a friend of Hercule Poirot) and Dr. Constantine (a physician who acts as the coroner aboard the Orient Express). They help Hercule to find the mystery. These characters are well developed in a way that you will instantly relate to their doubts and curiosity.
“How fast you go. You arrive at a conclusion much sooner than I would permit myself to do”.
Agatha Christie created so many characters as passengers. Still, she never failed to portray each of them rigorously. Each and every chapter will be an out-and-out page-turner for all the readers. You will unconsciously involve yourself to find those repressed facts in the story. Her writing style is an absolute example of an eloquent work. Hats-off to Agatha Christie for this engagingly penned down novel.
I highly recommend this book to the readers who like reading crime which perfectly holds the suspense towards its end, to the lovers of thriller & detective stories and most importantly to the admirers of Agatha Christie.
Happy reading!!!
