Review:
I'm not writing this review to grab visitors' attention. I did that before but definitely not this one. I like Sushant not only for his acting but also for his craze for astronomy, poems and reading books. I want to specially appreciate ‘Disney+Hotstar' for the free streaming of this film.
This movie is based on a famous novel “The fault in our stars” by John Green. If you have already read this book or watched that movie in English then you will definitely know how this movie will tear off your soul. Or if you are new to this story then be prepared for your emotional roller coaster ride.
Immanuel Rajkumar/Manny (Sushant Singh Rajput) – is a osteosarcoma (bone cancer) patient. He lives with his best friend JP (Sahil Vaid) who is suffering from glaucoma. Manny is a great admirer of actor Rajnikanth. So, they decided to shoot a short movie based on the famous scenes of Rajni. Both are apt for their roles. Their enthusiastic behaviours makes audience to forget about their tragic diseases. They are so full of life. Sushant's dynamic performance stands out.
Kizie Basu (Sanjana Sanghi) – is a thyroid cancer patient. She wants to live a normal life despite her health condition. Sanjana is a perfect choice for her role. She beautifully portrays each scene.
Their love shines brighter than their deadly fate. The word ‘Seri’ (Tamil - சரி, means ‘OK’ In English) holds a very special meaning in their own fairy tale.
Kizie's father (Saswata Chatterjee) and kizie’s mother (Swastika Mukherjee) have played their roles well. You will witness how typical parents try to come out of their way for their daughter’s happiness.
A.R. Rahman has beautifully done the excellent melancholic music with an exuberant touch. My personal favourite track is 'Main Tumhara'.
Story starts off straight away and ends in a sad soul stirring phase.
Direction, cinematography are perfectly done.
Overall, Dil Bechara is a grief-stricken film which has three-hanky ending.
I highly recommend this movie to all the lovers of romantic melodrama and of course to the admirers of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Happy watching!!!
P.S: Dear Sushant,
I love all your 'Self musing' writings especially the following one,
“Somewhere between neurons & narratives, I was born, lived, dreamt & died”.
You will always be missed.
By,
One among your innumerable fans.
